The sidewalk along Sequim Avenue has been closed the past month as crews complete utility work in the right of way and prepare to make changes to the entrance into the library’s parking lot.
This week, Sequim Avenue was trenched to connect a new water line dedicated to the new fire suppression system that will be installed in the building — an important safety improvement.
Utility, sidewalk, and curb improvements are expected to wrap up later this fall. The construction contractors will open the sidewalk back up for public access and minimize disruptions as soon as they can.
