The majority of the new underground infrastructure work is now complete! This includes extensive electrical and networking conduit throughout the foundation and site, as well as sewer lines, plumbing, waterlines for a new fire suppression system, and irrigation.
Grading around the site is nearly complete, and paving of the new parking lot will begin by the end of the month.
Delays in the delivery of structural steel—critical columns and custom fasteners—have slowed the progress of the roof assembly. However, the contractors have been extremely flexible and have adjusted their schedules to prefabricate and prepare as many sections of the building on-site as possible. When the steel arrives, the new gable roof line will come together quickly, thanks to the extensive work completed in advance.

A new parking lot and entry into the library site is currently being graded and prepared for asphalt.
New structure is framed on the western section of the building. This area used to be the public meeting room.
The western-most section of the building will contain restrooms, electrical and utility rooms, storage, and a secure space for holding materials returned via the exterior book drops.
Two openings have been cut into an old concrete wall to allow for exterior book drops and a secure interior holding space.
In preparation for metal framing, ceiling brackets have been laid out on the floor in the shape of the interior curved walls.
The northeast corner of the building will contain two study rooms and a small conference room. The metal brackets laid out on the floor reveal the shape of these rooms.
