Metal framing has started to be constructed within the parts of the building that are enclosed, which means Sequim Branch Manager Emily Sly got to stand in her new office today!
The old library only had one staff office, which made it difficult for staff to meet in private, complete training, and work on projects. The limited staff space in the old library also made it hard to process the quarter million items that circulate at the Sequim Library every year. The new library will have four staff offices (three of them will be shared) and a staff break room.
Another gain for staff is that they will be able to see the front of the library site from within the building for the first time. A new window has been cut out of the north concrete wall to provide views outside and let light into the space.
