Library Services and Programs

Services Available

Children/Young Adult: Programs to both entertain and enthuse, to encourage independent reading. A very special collection of materials for the young, their parents, and the young-at-heart! A Calendar of Library Events includes children's programs.  Check out our Children's Services page and some links to useful Young Adult Sites.

Reference Services: From the curious to the complicated, we'll help you find answers. In addition to print resources (including government documents and resource files for local community information), we subscribe to a number of high-quality reference databases, which you can access from anywhere with a valid library card. Still can't find what you need? Send us your reference information request or call us (360)417-8501.

Outreach Services: Bringing library service to homebound, disabled or institutionalized patrons. We coordinate the talking book service of the Washington Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.

Adaptive Technology:  the Port Angeles Branch has an adaptive computer for the visually impaired and physically handicapped patrons.

Additional Formats:  Descriptive Videos:  Descriptive video tapes describe the visual elements of a movie, narrating the action, characters, location and costumes without interfering with the dialogue or other sound elements.  A list of titles are available through the catalog using the subject heading: Video Description.

Pacific Northwest Services: Books, maps and documents about your favorite area - the Pacific Northwest. Includes the Bert Kellogg Collection, a unique collection of slides and photographs of early Olympic Peninsula life.
